Easter Sunday Service – March 31, 2024

Happy Easter! This week we begin a new series called, “He Goes Ahead Of Us,” that explores the stories of Jesus’ resurrection in Mark and the rest of the New Testament. Today we start with Mark 16:1-8 and sit in the space between hearing the good news of resurrection and being able to hope that it’s true.

Good Friday Service – March 29, 2024

On Good Friday we remember and give thanks for what Jesus has accomplished through his death on the cross. We journey together through the story of Jesus’ suffering and sacrifice through the dramatic reading of Scripture and special music from our choir and worship team.

A copy of the service program can be downloaded below if you would like to follow along with the dramatic reading of the Gospel of Mark.

Good Friday Order of Service 2024 Final

Sermon For Palm Sunday March 24th, 2024

This is the sixth and final part of our series for the season of Lent, “Travelling With the King.” This week was Palm Sunday and so we arrive with Jesus in Jerusalem in Mark 11:1-26. We reflect on Jesus’ challenging words and actions in and around the Jerusalem Temple and consider how we are called to make use of God’s ‘house’ today.

Sermon For Sunday March 17th, 2024

This is Part 5 of our series for the season of Lent, “Travelling With the King.” We are journeying with Jesus on the road to Jerusalem in chapters 9 and 10 of the Gospel of Mark. This week’s message picks up in Mark 10:32-52 where it becomes clear that even those closest to Jesus continue to struggle with his unique way of life. Yet we also see that there is hope for those who are humble and willing to trust in Jesus’ compassion.

Sermon For Sunday March 10th, 2024

This is Part 4 of our series for the season of Lent, “Travelling With the King.” We are journeying with Jesus on the road to Jerusalem in chapters 9 and 10 of the Gospel of Mark. This week’s message picks up in Mark 10:17-31 where Jesus lovingly challenges a wealthy person to give away all their possessions to the poor before following him. We consider what this story has to teach us about letting go and trusting God ourselves.
