Today is the first Sunday in Lent.  We continue our new worship series that will guide us through Lent – “Walking the Way of the Cross.”

2023 Ancaster Community Food Drive – Saturday March 4:

The Food Drive returns in-person to the Ancaster Fair Grounds on the first Saturday in March. In addition to bringing a donation on March 4, you can help with the flyer drop off on Saturday February 25. If you prefer to make a direct financial contribution online, or learn more about this year’s Food Drive (including contact information) go to: http://www.ancasterfooddrive.ca/

Loose Change Sunday for Mission:

The Mission Team will be holding a “Loose Change Sunday” in support of the PWS&D Malawi Cholera Relief Appeal on Palm Sunday, April 2, 2023. The Presbyterian Church in Canada has strong ties to Presbyterian Church in Malawi and supports ongoing development in what is one of the poorest countries in the world. Malawi has been suffering a severe Cholera outbreak since early 2022 due to flooding and other damage caused by Tropical Storm Ana. To learn more about the situation go to:

Save the Date for the 2023 Ancaster Vacation Bible School (VBS):

VBS returns Monday July 3 through Friday July 7, from 9am to noon. Website and online registration coming soon.

New Beginnings Workshop March 6:

On the evening of March 6, the New Beginnings program will begin with an Appreciative Inquiry workshop. There is a limit on how many people can participate, so Session has begun extending invitations to attend. If you would be interested in taking part, please speak to Rev. Anne Yee-Hibbs by the end of coffee hour today. Please pray for the workshop and the other work we’ll be doing with the New Beginnings consultants. Full congregational involvement in large and small group gatherings will come in April or May.

2023 Annual Meeting & Annual Report:

St. Andrew’s Annual Meeting for 2023 will be held following worship on Sunday March 12. Printed copies of the Annual Report, including the proposed church budget will be available on Sunday March 5. A digital copy will be circulated by email earlier in the week. As in 2022 we will be printing a smaller number of reports – for those without email and those who request a paper copy. To request your printed copy, fill out the online survey in this week’s email newsletter, email the church office directly, or speak to a member of Session.
