Announcements

Today is a special Stewardship Sunday. Our guest speaker is Karen Plater, the Associate Secretary for Stewardship & Planned Giving for The Presbyterian Church in Canada. Karen will be giving a short seminar on how to make a planned or enduring gift to support the ongoing ministry of the church during coffee hour.

In her role Karen Plater helps congregations develop effective stewardship programs, encourages them in their mission outreach, and promotes giving to Presbyterians Sharing.

Karen grew up in Peterborough Ontario. She graduated from the International Development Program at the University of Toronto in 1996. While working with The Presbyterian Church in Canada Karen has visited partners in Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, India, Malawi, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique and Ukraine. Karen currently splits time between the PCC’s Toronto office and her small farm in Ontario’s Beaver Valley (near Thornbury).

Earth Day Textile Drive:

Our next Textile recycling drive will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 9am – 12Noon.  Let’s work together with our local community to keep clothing, fabric and other textiles out of the landfill. If you would like to help out on the day of the drive, please speak to Rev. Anne Yee-Hibbs (ayhibbs@gmail.com or 905-627-9080). Acceptable donations: clothes, towels, curtains, linens, bedding (NO PILLOWS) socks, underwear, shoes, purses and belts.
