This Saturday October 26 is our next Messy Church gathering (from 10:00am to Noon). Messy Church is way to open the door to families of all kinds who aren’t connected to a church, but would like to explore faith together with others. The basic idea is that people don’t have to have it ‘all together’ in order to come to church (to learn more go to: https://www.messychurch.org.uk/). Everyone can come excatly as they are.
It’s for all ages together (kids, parents, grandparents and other family) and involves crafts, a meal and a short time of informal worship. We’re now running Messy Church monthly, so if you can’t make it this time you’ll have another chance on Saturday November 30.
This coming Sunday (October 13) is Thanksgiving and we’ll be making our annual collection fresh produce for Mission Services. We’re also looking a volunteer driver (or drivers) with a truck, van or SUV, who can deliver the produce to Mission Services (196 Wentworth St N, Hamilton).
St. Andrew’s is introducing a new worship, learning and community gathering called Messy Church.
Messy Church has been a highly successful approach used by churches across the United Kingdom, Canada and the U.S, as a way to open the door to families who aren’t connected to a church. The basic idea is that people don’t have to have it ‘all together’ in order to come to church (to learn more go to: https://www.messychurch.org.uk/).
It’s for all ages together (kids, parents, grandparents and other family) and involves crafts, a meal and a short time of informal worship. Going forward it will run once a month on a Saturday.
September 28 will be our trial run and will be for those who are already part of our St. Andrew’s family (including adult children and grandkids of our Sunday congregation).
We’ll begin inviting our neighbours to come to Messy Church starting with our October gathering on Saturday October 26 (10:00am to Noon).
St. Andrew’s will be taking part in the annual Ancaster Fair Service, a shared worship service organized by several local churches. Worship will be held at 9:30am at the Ancaster Fair Grounds and will be our main Sunday service. Music will be led by the St. Andrew’s Praise Band. Attendance at the service will also get you free admission to the Fall Fair for the day. For directions and more information the great Fall Fair we have here in Ancaster, go to ancasterfair.ca/
For those unable to make it to the Fair Grounds, a second service of worship will also be held at 11:00am in the St. Andrew’s sanctuary.

St. Andrew’s is offering the Alpha Course this fall. Alpha will meet on Wednesdays 6:30-8:00pm from September 25 to December 4. Each week there’s a free meal, a video and discussion. Alpha is a safe, welcoming place to ask life’s big questions and a great way to develop meaningful friendships with people from all backgrounds and perspectives.
If you’re already a part of our church we encourage you to invite your friends, family and neighbours who have questions about life, faith and purpose – Alpha is a great place to explore them. Postcards with information on this fall’s Alpha will be available starting this Sunday September 8.
We mark the start of another church season with a special service of worship. We will be commissioning teachers and helpers, regular Sunday School programing resumes, and worship will be led by the band. Join us for a great start to the fall season.
