Worship – We had a wonderful morning of worship at the Ancaster Fair this past Sunday, with over 100 people in attendance from St. Andrew’s Ancaster, St. Paul’s Carluke, Bowman United and several other churches. Upcoming Events

St. Andrew’s Community Children’s Choir – Tuesdays at 4:30 pm.
This program is open to any child (Grades 1-8) who loves to sing. The cost is $25 (this can be waived if affordability is an issue). The Children’s Choir will practice on Tuesdays at 4:30pm. Fall Textile Drive – Saturday October 17
The Mission Team will be holding the Fall Textile Drive on Sat. October 17th, 9am-Noon, here at St. Andrew’s.  Acceptable donations include clothes, towels, curtains, linens, bedding (NO PILLOWS) socks, underwear, shoes, purses, belts. Please Note: Small scraps of fabric are not acceptable.   All donations must be placed in garbage bags. Please no cardboard boxes or bins. All donations are picked up by Canadian Recycling Ltd. The clothing that is usable is sent to Clothing for Charity who distributes it to organizations supporting families in need. What is not usable is made into rags. Thank you for your continued support of this worthwhile and environmental initiative.

200th Anniversary Weekend – Saturday October 24 & Sunday October 25
St. Andrew’s 200th Anniversary Dinner is happening on Saturday Oct. 24th. We will be serving a beautiful catered buffet, followed by live entertainment. Doors open at 5:30pm with dinner served at 6pm. Tickets will be available Sunday Sept.13th and Sept.20th for church members. Family and friends’ tickets will be available Sunday Sept 27th and October 4th. For further information please contact the church office.
St. Andrew’s 200th Anniversary Service will be held on Sunday October 25th at our usual time of 10:30am. There will be lots of special music from our Music Team and Choir. Our Guest Preacher will be the Rev. Dr. Peter Bush, Moderator of the 143rd General Assembly of The Presbyterian Church in Canada. He is an excellent speaker on both Presbyterian history and issues facing the Canadian Church today.

 

Membership Course – End of September/Early October: Rev. John Read will be holding membership courses this fall. The course involves some reading and 2 or 3 small group gatherings. If you are interested or have questions around membership, please contact John (revjohnread@gmail.com) or call the church office.
