Music and Message for Pentecost and Heritage Sunday – June 8, 2025 “Created and Renewed by the Spirit”
This Sunday we reflected on the specific history of St. Andrew’s and story of how the whole Christian Church was born by the action of God’s Holy Spirit. As we continue to pray and work towards the renewal of our churches we are reminded that the story of any church is guided by the Spirit. The preaching passage was Psalm 104:1-4, 24-35 with reference to Acts 2:1-4.
The message closed with this ancient prayer to the Holy Spirit, which you may also use in your prayer life:
“Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth Your Spirit and they shall be created and you shall renew the face of the earth. Oh, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit did instruct the hearts of his faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit, we may be truly wise and ever rejoice in His consolations. Through, Christ, our Lord, Amen.”
