Christmas Eve at St. Andrew’s

Please join us at 7:00pm on Christmas Eve for a service of lessons, carols, and special music from the St. Andrew’s Choir and Music Team. Be sure to invite your family and friends as we celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Sermon For The Second Sunday of Advent December 10th, 2023

This is the second part in our worship series for the season of Advent, “Opening The Door… To Peace.” This series will connect the themes of Advent to the vision of St. Andrew’s (https://standrews.ws/about/). This week we’re connecting the second point of our vision “Opening Doors… to Our Neighbours” to the Advent theme of Peace.

The message takes the form of a conversation between Rev. John Read and Rev. Aaron Gerrard, the pastor of Ancaster Village Church. AVC is a 10 year old “Church Plant” that has been meeting in the St. Andrew’s building since October.

Sermon For The First Sunday of Advent December 3rd, 2023

This is the first message in our worship series for the season of Advent, “Opening The Door… To Hope.” Advent is a season where we remember how God came to us in Jesus, look forward to the hope of God’s new world when Jesus comes again, and open ourselves to the ways that Jesus comes to us in the present.

This series will also connect the themes of Advent (Hope, Peace, Joy & Love) to the vision of St. Andrew’s, which can be found here: https://standrews.ws/about/

Sermon for Remembrance Sunday November 12th, 2023

This is the final message in our worship series, “Growing Into God’s Purpose.” We’re reflecting the story of Jacob as we consider how God helps us grow into the mission that he’s given us.

This week we’ll be looking at the conclusion Jacob’s story in Genesis 33 and consider how Christ gives us the hope of reconciliation, even in the most impossible of circumstances.

Rev. Read will be on vacation and study leave for the next two Sundays, so our next posted sermon will go up on Tuesday December 5th.

Sermon for Sunday November 5th, 2023

This is the next message in our current worship series, “Growing Into God’s Purpose.” We’re reflecting the story of Jacob as we consider how God helps us grow into the mission that he’s given us.

This week we’ll be looking at the climax of Jacob’s story in Genesis 32, and consider how God brings us to the place of lasting change and growth.

Sermon for Sunday October 29th, 2023

This is the next message in our new worship series, “Growing Into God’s Purpose.” We’re reflecting the story of Jacob as we consider how God helps us grow into the mission that he’s given us.

This week we’ll be looking at the middle of Jacob’s story in Genesis 28-31 and reflect on the good news that God can still make something good from the messiness of our lives.

Sermon for Sunday October 22, 2023

This is the first message in our new worship series, “Growing Into God’s Purpose.” It’s often said in church circles that “God doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the called.” We’re going to spend a few weeks exploring this idea by working through the story of Jacob in Genesis 25-35.

This week we’ll be looking at the start of Jacob’s story in Genesis 25 & 27, and reflect on how there’s good news in the fact that he seems like last person God would choose to be a part of his mission to bless the world.
