Last week week we were back in the sanctuary after a few weeks worshiping in the gym. This Sunday, we’ll be using the new sanctuary stairs as our main entrance. The main doors to the gym are closed as work starts on the lobby.

I regret to inform you that David Blackwell died on Saturday after a long illness. Our prayers are with his family and friends.
David’s funeral will be 11am, Thursday Aug 17th, here at St. Andrew’s.
A reception will follow here at the church.
Visitation will be 4-7pm on Wednesday at Dodsworth and Brown Funeral Home, Wilson Street, Ancaster. (Next to Timmy’s).
You can see that the exterior stairs are almost complete in this week’s photos. Depending on the rest of this week, this may allow services to run in the Sanctuary this Sunday.
This week we’ve seen the foundation of the Narthex steps go it. (See photos). Already more progress has been made, so come on Sunday and see us racing full steam ahead!
This past week saw the removal of the ceiling outside the gym entrance.
Next week we will be starting with tree removal and brush removal. We will be setting a fence up to close off the sidewalk going to the narthex stairs and stairs going down to the main entrance. So there is lots of progress on the project.
I regret to inform you that Howard Atkin passed away at 10:30 on Sunday morning. A service will be held at St. Andrew’s this Thursday, Nov 27 at 11am with a reception to follow. Visitation will be at Dodsworth & Brown on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Please pass this news along to those who do not get this e-mail.
Yours sincerely
David Moore

Great news! At last Sunday’s Congregational meeting the various motions to fund the access project and to proceed with construction passed. Thanks the overwhelming support of the congregation and the efforts of the committee we will see construction starting in the fall. Thank you to everyone who took the time to come to the meeting and vote in support of this vital project.
To date we have now raised $1 million of the $1.3 million cost of the project. Fundraising will continue in variety of ways. Thank you for your generosity in supporting the renewed vision of St. Andrew’s Church.
To help support the Opening Doors Accessibilty Campaign St. Andrew’s has created an online donation page at gofundme.com. You can find it here: https://www.gofundme.com/vtvwwpvd
Our goal is $10,000 to go specifically to replace the front stairs up to the sanctuary. All support is greatly appreciated as we seek to open our doors wide to our local community here in Ancaster.
Wow …. Our Fund Raising Campaign Team wants to sincerely thank all our members and friends who have contributed cash and pledges to our Fund Raising Campaign for our Accessibility Project. In three months collectively we have raised more than two thirds of our goal of $1.3 million. FANTASTIC !
If you haven’t yet been visited, you will be hearing from one of our Team members soon to set up a time to meet with you. We would like to have all the visits completed by the end of April.
With your support … we WILL reach our goal!
