Announcements

Today is Palm Sunday when we celebrate Jesus humbly coming to Jerusalem as King. But the Gospel also tells us that Jesus is a different kind of king, a king who suffers and dies to bring forgiveness and peace. We’ll be exploring this paradox in our service today as we conclude our worship series, “Walking The Way Of The Cross.” Our services are recorded, so you can go to our website to find previous messages: www.standrews.ws

Loose Change Sunday for Mission:

Today is a “Loose Change Sunday” in support of the Presbyterian World Service and Development (PWS&D) Malawi Cholera Relief Appeal. This appeal has become even more urgent as Malawi was recently hit with another severe cyclone. Our Church has strong ties to the Presbyterian Church in Malawi and supports ongoing development in what is one of the poorest countries in the world. https://presbyterian.ca/2023/03/16/malawi-when-disasters-collide/

Memorial Easter Lilies:

Today is also the last day to request a memorial Easter lily to place in the sanctuary on Easter Sunday. Please see Anna Place at coffee hour. The lilies are $12.

Good Friday Service – April 7 at 10:30am:

Join us for a reflective service of readings, drama and special music as we remember and give thanks for what Jesus has accomplished by his suffering and sacrifice on the cross.

Easter Sunday – April 9 at 10:30am:

Join us at 10:30am as we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection and the victory of God’s love over the power of death. Worship will include special music from the St. Andrew’s Choir.

Earth Day Textile Drive:

Our next Textile recycling drive will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 9am – 12Noon.  Let’s work together with our local community to keep clothing, fabric and other textiles out of the landfill. If you would like to help out on the day of the drive, please speak to Rev. Anne Yee-Hibbs (ayhibbs@gmail.com or 905-627-9080). Acceptable donations: clothes, towels, curtains, linens, bedding (NO PILLOWS) socks, underwear, shoes, purses and belts.
